The Williamson County, Texas Inmate Roster is a public resource that allows citizens to view information about individuals currently in custody at the county jail. WilliamsonTXCourt.us helps find publicly available information about current and recent inmates. Additionally, searches can be conducted through the official website of the Williamson County Corrections Bureau, by calling the jail, or visiting in person. The roster is maintained by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office and is regularly updated to reflect the current inmate population. It is hosted on the Williamson County Records Inquiry portal and serves as a tool for public transparency.

Find Williamson Jail Booking Records Online
A booking record is created each time an individual is brought to the jail and registered. This process includes recording the detainee's personal information, photographing, fingerprinting, and entering the information into the electronic system.
Each record contains:
- A unique booking number
- Date and time of registration
- Charges presented
- Arresting agency
- Bond information, if set
Booking records for individuals currently in custody are available through the Williamson County Records Inquiry. Bond records can also be viewed there.
If you need a record not available in the online system — for example, for someone already released — submit a request through the public information request form in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act. The Sheriff's Office is responsible only for records created by its divisions. Records from other law enforcement agencies must be requested directly from the respective agency.
For state-level criminal history checks, use the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) criminal history search. This service is fee-based. If an individual has been transferred to a state-level facility, their status can be checked through the TDCJ inmate search system.
Search the Williamson Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number
The county portal's search system supports two primary methods:
Search by Last Name
Enter the individual's last name in the appropriate field. Optionally, add the first name to narrow results. Some practical tips:
- Check spelling — the system is sensitive to the accuracy of entered data.
- If the last name has multiple spelling variations (e.g., hyphenated or with an apostrophe), try different versions.
- If unsure of the full name, enter just the last name — the system will show all individuals with that last name.
Search by Booking Number
This method is the most accurate. The booking number is assigned to each detainee during registration and is unique. If you know this number, enter it in the appropriate field for an instant result.
If the Search Yields No Results
A lack of results does not necessarily mean the individual was not arrested. Possible reasons:
- The individual has not yet been entered into the system (the registration process can take some time after delivery).
- The individual has already been released, and the record has been removed from the active roster.
- The name was entered incorrectly.
- The individual is held in another facility or jurisdiction.
In such cases, call the jail at (512) 943-1300 to verify information directly. Williamson County does not centralize all warrants — some may be with the respective city police department.
Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Williamson
The inmate roster is updated regularly but not in real-time. There can be a delay from the actual arrest to the appearance of the record in the online system, ranging from a few minutes to several hours, depending on data processing speed during registration.
Key limitations to be aware of:
- Delay after arrest. Recently delivered individuals may not yet appear in the system until the booking procedure is complete.
- Removal after release. Records of individuals released on bond or after serving time disappear from the active roster. This is not an archive of all past bookings.
- Data entry errors. Sometimes last names or other data may be entered with inaccuracies, complicating the search.
- Current custody only. The roster displays only individuals in custody at the time of the search.
To obtain historical records or documents not available in the online system, submit an official request. The county clerk's records request form can be downloaded here or emailed to dcrequest@wilco.org. Court records are also available through the District Clerk's office, which indexes and stores all court case materials.
